Player Applications for 2019
*Due to cancellations there are still a very limited number of positions available for Violin in the orchestra for the upcoming season.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the orchestra you can apply by emailing email@example.com with a recording of your playing (video or audio), your CV or short Biography and a scan of an ID for proof of age. Please remember that you must be over 18 to take part and that the number of places in the orchestra is limited. All rehearsals and concerts will take place from the 4th and 10th of August and all players must be available for all of the dates.
The number of required musicians will not exceed those called for in this seasons principal works. The program will also include a new work by a young Irish composer details of which can be found below.

Composition Submissions for 2019
Once again the Esker Festival Orchestra is delighted to announce that it is now accepting submissions for an original composition to be rehearsed and performed during our summer Festival and Tour. Submissions are open to all composers under the age of 35 who are either Irish citizens or currently residing in Ireland. A panel made up of members of the orchestra as well as an independent professional composer will choose the successful work. The work will be rehearsed during our residency from the 6th and 12th of August followed by performances in throughout Ireland.
The deadline for submissions is July 1st 2019 and the chosen work will be announced shortly thereafter.

Composition for Orchestra
Circa 10 minutes in Duration
2 Flutes, optional doubling Piccolo
2 Oboes, optional doubling Cor Anglais
2 Clarinets, optional doubling Bass Clarinet and Eb Clarinet
4 French Horns
Full String Section
Submissions must include a musical CV, scan of an ID for proof of age, a brief analysis of the piece, a full score and a mock up or recording if possible, at least a Sibelius or finale file.
